Are you a true Gin connoisseur?
Kata Rocks is quickly establishing its ocean view bar as Phuket’s top destination for serious Gin lovers. With the award-winning luxury resort as a backdrop, it is a very rare and special ‘Gin House’ indeed.
All of the featured gins are top-shelf and come from a variety of countries around the globe, including offbeat rarities like Australia’s small-batch Ink Dry Gin, making Kata Rocks the first in Thailand to pour this unique spirit.
Ink Dry Gin along with an additional 15 different Gin brands line the shelves of its stunning ocean view bar, giving Kata Rocks the largest collection of Gin on the island. Whether you’re a connoisseur of classic Gin flavours, Sloe Gin or new age hand distilled and flavourful infused ones, Kata Rocks has it all and intends to continue to expand its Gin selection.
Other international offerings include a selection of some very rare and unique hand crafted and boutique Gins from England, Scotland, Australia, Germany and even Thailand. These include, but are not limited to, Monkey 47, Iron Ball Gin, Martin Millers, G’Vine and many others.
However, Ink Dry Gin is clearly the star of Kata Rocks’ Gin selection and for very good reason. Hand crafted and pot distilled, Ink Gin is a classic Aussie Dry Gin, infused with butterfly pea flowers and lovingly made in ultra-small batches of only 110 bottles per distillation.
This special spirit is distilled with a blend of traditional, Australian and exotic ingredients. The flavour of juniper is complimented with native lemon myrtle, Tasmanian pepper berries and sweet orange. Ink’s crisp finish has undertones of coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, elderflower, oris and liquorice root.
The result gives Ink Dry Gin its signature floral bouquet, with citrus and peppery notes. The butterfly pea flower adds a subtle astringency leaving the palate crisp and clean allowing the unmistakable freshness of that quintessential Australian aromatic, lemon myrtle.
Come to Kata Rocks for our sunset happy hour to savour an Ink Dry Gin Martini paired with Gin inspired tapas such as clam cakes with turmeric gin and cucumber aioli, or steamed oysters in a gin and lime infusion.
It really is a match made in Gin heaven…
