Turning Heads at Singapore Yacht Show 2017

Turning Heads at Singapore Yacht Show 2017

The organisers of the Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous (KRSR) joined this year’s Singapore Yacht Show as the event welcomed some of the most impressive yachts in the region to the island nation’s award-winning ONE°15 Marina.

It was opulence at its very finest during the Singapore Yacht Show’s (SYS) seventh edition, and for serious buyers, charter clients and luxury lifestyle aficionados most eyes were on the water.

A total 57 boats (12 superyachts) including the 77 metre SY Silverfast took part in this year’s SYS. Princess Yachts showcased the largest fleet with eight yachts (plus two from Jeanneau), Simpson Marine and Feretti Group displayed six each whilst Azimut Singapore featured four yachts. Burgess representing Silverfast the largest superyachts at the show.

Here’s our list of top unique things we saw making a splash at this year’s Singapore Yacht Show 2017:

Silver Fast: Forbes anointed this vessel as the biggest and priciest superyacht at SYS. Silver Fast was the largest superyacht ever on display at the SYS. This ultra-modern 77 metre aluminium superyacht has an incredible top speed of up to 27 knots and can comfortably accommodate 18 guests. Priced at USD 85.9 million, Silver Fast offers an outdoor cinema, Jacuzzi on deck, a helipad and much more.

AmbrosiaBenetti presented the 65m Ambrosia during the SYS, the second largest superyachtAmbrosia showcases Benetti’s engineering mastery and commitment to technology. The owner is an enthusiastic technophile and requested that the boat to be fitted with the most advanced diesel-electric propulsion available.

Ocean Emerald: This superyacht’s sweeping grey aluminium hull and massive superstructure cut a striking wake next to others attending this year’s show.  From her base in Thailand she runs regional charters so it’s an understatement to call her well equipped for cruising comfort. On-board are five cabins, together with two salons and a marine garage full of enough toys to keep guests out on the water and completely entertained. Ocean Emerald also boasts serious Hollywood street cred after it appeared in the recent remake of action film Point Break.

Feadship: The Dutch superyacht designer and builder unveiled its concept yacht ‘Choice’ turning heads of designers, maritime professionals and nautical enthusiasts alike.

Glamour & Parties: The SYS 2017 after party was hosted at trendy hotspot CÉ LA VI and found yachting enthusiasts enjoying themselves at one of Singapore’s most popular hang outs. With numerous yachting brands hosting parties and competing to attract Singapore glitterati, the Princess Yachts & Johnnie Walker Reserve Private Tasting Event stole the show.

Hospitality: In addition to the region’s most bold and beautiful yachts, SYS is also a chance to showcase and experience the latest in luxury lifestyle. SYS exhibitors and sponsors pumped up the volume during big muscle supercar parades, glamorous fashion shows and pop up venues showcasing high end luxury goods.
