Go ‘bongos’ for Phuket’s best Sunday brunch at Kata Rocks

Kata Rocks Festive Season - Dining News & Events

Sunday brunch is probably the finest meal on the planet.  And we believe few things in life are better than Phuket’s best Sunday brunch at Kata Rocks, enjoyed next to the luxury residential resort’s splendid 35-metre swimming pool.

Kata Rocks redefines Phuket luxury living in so many ways, and its luxury Sunday brunch is a prime example. Every Sunday Kata Rocks’ Executive Chef Steve Baker and his talented team lay out a thoroughly modern Mediterranean-inspired brunch with a distinctive Australasian flair and hints of Thai spice.

Sunday brunch menu items change with seasonal availability, however a selection of possible individual dishes includes tasty tapas for starters in addition to magnificent entrees.

These include, but are not limited to, slow cooked salmon and sour cream scrambled eggs; fresh sea bass with crisp risotto cake and champagne salad; crisp panko clams, cucumber and remoulade; sliced Wagyu beef rump  with grilled Portobello mushrooms and garlic buttered baby potatoes; seared chicken, spinach, artichoke and broccoli salad; orecchiette pasta with tomato basil pesto.

Kata Rocks also literally ‘rocks’ Phuket’s best Sunday brunch from 12noon to 3pm, thanks to the chilled sounds produced by live tribal percussion maestro DJ Frank Nastri. DJ Frank likes to pound his bongos during Sunday brunch, laying down some mean beats that both aid digestion and get guests up and working off calories week on week.

Kata Rocks’ luxury Sunday brunch is priced at just 1,500 baht++ (US$46) per person for brunch only, and 2,500 baht ++ for the meal and a free flow of selected beverages.

Available drink options (subject to change to suit food pairings) include Villa Sandi Rosato Brut IL Fresco sparkling wine, Lindemans 2013 Chardonnay,  Lindemans Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Bloody Mary, frozen gin and tonic, Watermelon Granita, homemade ginger beer and other non-alcoholic beverages mixed in-house.

Since its official grand opening in November 2014 Kata Rocks has wowed guests with its modern take on the Phuket luxury villas sector.

Phuket’s newest residential resort has 34 one to four-bedroom luxury ‘Sky Villas’ each with private pool, versatile indoor/outdoor living areas, luxury appliances and gorgeous Italian-designed furniture. Each Sky Villa uses interactive iPad technology to control its environment with the touch of a button. Along with Phuket’s best Sunday brunch, poolside restaurant and bar, Kata Rocks also features its own Infinite Luxury Spa and fitness centre.
